SMYL Research Catalyst Fund: Powering Medical Breakthroughs
St. Michael’s Hospital is a global leader in groundbreaking medical research, driving life-saving discoveries for patients across Canada and around the world. It is now one of the most powerful health science engines in Canada, ranking number one among large adult hospitals in research intensity. This means St. Michael’s researchers conduct more research per person than anywhere else in the country.
The SMYL Research Catalyst Fund directly supports this remarkable work. Every dollar raised toward the Fund enables the hospital’s VP of Research and Innovation the flexibility to provide matching funds for research grant applications, recruit and retain top-tier scientists and invest in innovative new projects that aim to transform care and save lives in areas like critical care and trauma, family and community health, brain health, health equity, and beyond.
